Ip Man/Ip Man 2

R 2008 1 hr. 46 min.

Ip Man is the story of Bruce Lee's mentor, but this story has nothing to do with Bruce Lee.
This is all about Chinese life during the Japanese occupation. Ip Man is a great martial arts master, but he doesn't want to teach. He is content to live his life with his family, but when the Japanese take over he is forced to fight for his freedom and his life. This is a great movie. If you liked Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon then you will love this. Amazing action sequences, his speed is just amazing. Donnie Yen is tremendous, not to be missed. 4.5 out of 5 stars.

R 2010 1 hr. 48 min.

This story picks up a few months after the first ends. To sum this up is easy, just take Rocky 4 and make it about the Chinese(Americans) vs. the British(Russians). Nothing special here, pretty generic story. The action and choreography make this one watchable, and worthwhile. 3 out of 5 stars.
